How is licence activation different from transfer?
Activation and transfer describe different actions. DHA activation links an eligible registration to a hiring facility through its licensing service. A transfer route depends on the current regulator, destination and facility arrangement.
Can I start work with DHA registration alone?
No. DHA’s Get Registered service states that a healthcare facility must activate the registration into a licence before practice. Check the issued licence and any restrictions before starting the intended role.
Who submits DHA activation?
The hiring facility’s delegated representative applies, and the professional approves the request. The relevant active facility service, registration and other prerequisites must be in place.
Does MOHAP have a route for professionals already licensed by another authority?
Yes. The Transfer License from DHA/DOH service currently describes active DOH, DHA or SHA licence holders. A health facility applies, and the professional must accept its work invitation and meet the service conditions.
Should I cancel my current licence before applying elsewhere?
Confirm the destination route and the correct sequence with both facilities and the authorities first. Some routes require an active existing licence; do not assume cancellation is the first step.
Is a DataFlow report transfer a licence transfer?
No. Report transfer concerns verification records. It does not issue a professional licence or establish permission to work at the destination facility.
Does an existing UAE licence guarantee exemption from a new exam?
No. Ask the destination authority to assess the applicable recognition or exemption provisions against your title, licence status and history. Do not buy a transfer package on a blanket exemption promise.
What if I am changing facility within the same authority?
Identify the service for that authority and your category, including any current-facility acceptance, cancellation or linking requirement. A within-authority move is not automatically the same process as an inter-authority application.
What should I prepare for a transfer review?
Record the current authority, title, licence status and expiry date; the destination facility; existing PSV coverage; and any unresolved authority request. Keep registration and licence documents clearly labelled.
How do I know the move is complete?
Check the destination licence or official authorisation, including title, facility, dates and conditions. A transferred report, payment receipt or job offer does not by itself confirm completion.
