Common Mistakes to Avoid

Booking before confirming the right exam

Paying for an assessment before checking which exam actually applies to the intended title and authority.

Assuming automatic exemption

Assuming an overseas exam or licence exempts you without checking it is still valid and on the recognised list.

Ignoring practice-gap effects

Not accounting for how a gap in clinical practice can affect exam or assessment eligibility.

Losing track of attempts

Not tracking how many attempts have been used, which affects what options remain.

Skipping eligibility review first

Paying exam fees before confirming the profile is eligible for that route at all.

Assuming a pass guarantees licensing

Treating an exam result as the final step rather than one stage in the licensing pathway.

Exam Booking Guidance FAQs

Questions About Exam Booking Guidance

Do all healthcare professionals need an exam?

No. UAE nationals and Children of Emirati Women are exempt from Authority examinations. Everyone else typically needs to pass the relevant exam unless an international exemption applies.

Which exams are used for UAE healthcare licensing?

Exam pathways can vary by authority and professional route, including DHA, MOHAP, DOH/HAAD, SHA or Prometric-related contexts.

How many attempts do I get?

PQR allows three (3) attempts across the Authorities for most titles. A fourth and final attempt with a different Authority is available after three failures, subject to a declaration that you have not failed with any other UAE authority.

Can my overseas exam or licence exempt me from a UAE exam?

Often, yes. Recognized exemptions include the UK's PLAB (I and II), the USA's USMLE Part III, Canada's LMCC (physicians) or NCLEX (nurses), Australia's AMC or NZREX, and equivalent registration/exam records from Ireland, Singapore, South Africa and other listed countries — provided the pass record or licence is still valid.

Can I book an exam before eligibility review?

A profile review can help clarify the relevant pathway before you proceed.

Do you provide study material?

Future study material is planned for preparation support only.

Can UAEHealthPro guarantee exam passing?

No. UAEHealthPro cannot assure an exam result.

Can I apply from outside UAE?

Many professionals prepare their pathway from outside the UAE.

What happens after passing an exam?

The next step depends on the authority pathway and individual case.

What if I fail the exam?

You may reapply for up to three (3) new attempts if you gain an additional recognized qualification or at least two (2) years of further clinical experience after your last attempt for the same title.
