A title such as “case manager” or “community officer” tells a reviewer little about your work. Prepare a short employment summary that connects your actual duties to the category you are asking CDA to assess. The following is a preparation worksheet, not an additional CDA requirement.

When the qualification does not match
Keep the degree name and the employment title separate
CDA’s published category table names Social Work as the major. A related subject or a social-service job title should not be relabelled as that degree. Present the original award, transcript and practice history together, and request a category review if the fit is unclear.
The April 2025 healthcare PQR published by DHA directs social workers to CDA. A healthcare-wide title list should therefore be read alongside its authority-specific notes.

Social Worker Sits the Licensing Examination
CDA’s published licensing information places Social Worker on the professional examination route. Psychologist, Social Counselor and Special Education Teacher are listed on that route as well. Confirm the current assessment instructions and available dates with CDA before making a booking.
The training route listed for four other categories is separate. Do not assume that a course certificate replaces the examination for your title. Ask what must be reviewed before assessment, how a sitting is confirmed and which result or certificate belongs in your application. Plan around a confirmed date rather than assuming a recurring schedule guarantees availability.

Reading the qualification level off the title
CDA asks for a Bachelor's degree for Social Worker. Of the 8 categories CDA publishes, 5 accept a Bachelor's degree and 4 a Master's (Special Education Teacher has a route at each level), and the job titles give you no way to tell which is which.
Assuming a related major will do
The major CDA names for Social Worker is Social Work. A degree in an adjacent subject may still be accepted, but that is CDA's decision on your specific file rather than something to plan around.
Underestimating the experience bar
Social Worker requires one (1) year of experience. Fresh graduates work under supervision for a year.
Experience stated loosely
Experience letters without clear dates, role detail and recency create avoidable queries on an otherwise sound file — and the shorter the required period, the more precisely it has to be evidenced.

CDA does not publish a fee for the licensing examination, so ask CDA whether one applies before you book. Do social workers in Dubai apply to CDA or DHA?
DHA’s published healthcare qualification requirements direct social workers to CDA. This page covers that Dubai CDA category. Confirm the proposed professional title and establishment with the employer before starting an application.
What qualification and experience does CDA list for Social Worker?
CDA’s published category table lists a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and one year of experience. Matching those entries is a starting point; CDA still reviews the qualification, evidence and remaining application requirements.
Can a Sociology or Psychology degree replace a Social Work degree?
